Blaze

The Hamster whom became a Black Lab........

It all started with a trip to the pet store for a hamster our children wanted. As we got to the pet store ( Pets Mart in Pittsburgh, Pa.) there was a pet adoption event going on with the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, Pittsburgh. There were a lot of dogs looking for someone to take them home.  I roamed off over to see the dogs while my husband and children looked at hamsters. They knew exactly where to find me. One dog stood out the most. " Bet you can guess which one, Blaze". Blaze Looked, and acted like a dog my husband had growing up. I used that knowledge to talk my husband into getting a dog instead.  Blaze turned out to be the best dog we could ask for.  He is very good with our children. He tries to be a 95 pound lap dog.

Blaze enjoys playing ball, and running around with the ferrets.  He is very good with interacting with the ferret so he will not hurt them.  A lot of the time the ferrets team up on him, and he just lays there.

Blaze has a condition ( Epilepsy ) which is common in Labs between the ages of 2 and 5 years. This condition causes Blaze to have seizures once a month, which can progress to closer epileptic fits time frame.  Due to Blaze only having one Epileptic attack a month the vets feel no medication is needed unless the time span between the attacks get shorter. The medication that they would have to give is harmful to the dogs liver.
